Susan DeSalvo-Reed – Program Coordinator
Susan Reed leads the SafeRx Team. She is a Nurse with over 30 years of experience in preventive medicine, healthcare education and wellness counseling. In the past, she has developed and implemented a Healthy Lifestyle educational program, workplace wellness programs, and served as a wellness coach in the county. Susan is a health activist and has applied her leadership skills to the Cobb community by providing Spirit Spin Fitness Studio, a local place to exercise. She is also a 22-year vested instructor for Healing Touch, where she teaches energy medicine nationally and internationally. Susan is excited to apply her health leadership experience to Lake County SafeRx to fight the opioid epidemic, and turn the dial to reduce use, death, and abuse of opioids.
Lisa Hardy coordinates Community Outreach and Harm Reduction activities for SafeRx. Lisa has a MS degree and worked as director of a public library prior to joining VISTA. In the future, she plans to do more work in community development and public health.
Andy heads SafeRx’s youth and media projects. He has a BS in Economics and has served in the Peace Corps teaching English in Cambodia as well as another AmeriCorps program, City Year Boston. Prior to joining SafeRx, Andy worked in retail and taught multiple subjects at a K-12 private school in Orange County. He enjoys writing (fiction) and plans to continue moving around until his wanderlust is satisfied.
Nellie Gottlieb is in charge of data collection, analysis and epidemiology on the SafeRx team. She is a recent graduate with an MPH from NYU. Nellie’s past public health work includes HIV/AIDS and behavioral health research in M&M populations. Her future career goals include conducting outbreak investigations globally.
